How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Logistics Improvement Lead Stoke-on-Trent | Circa £55,000 + Bonus | Hybrid Working (1 Day from Home) Career Development Opportunity | SAP EWM Environment

Meridian Business Support is recruiting on behalf of a leading international manufacturer for a Logistics Improvement Lead to join their Stoke-on-Trent operation. This position is ideal for a logistics or supply chain professional who is ready to take the next step in their career. Rather than seeking someone with an established senior management background, our client is looking for a high-potential individual with the ambition, drive and capability to grow within the business over time. You'll join a small, close-knit operation where your ideas will have a visible impact. Working alongside experienced leaders, you'll gain exposure to key operational activities while leading improvement projects that enhance efficiency, compliance and performance across the site.

As a Logistics Improvement Lead, you'll play a key role in driving operational improvements across warehousing, distribution and supply chain activities.
    Responsibilities include:

Leading logistics and process improvement projects from planning through to implementation
Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, service levels and operational performance
Driving continuous improvement initiatives using Lean principles and process mapping techniques
Monitoring KPIs and analysing operational data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
Supporting ISO and BSI audit activities and maintaining compliance standards
Developing process documentation and promoting best practice across the site
Working closely with colleagues to gain engagement and successfully embed change
To be successful in this Logistics Improvement Lead role, you'll ideally have:

A degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline
Several years' experience within logistics, warehousing, manufacturing or supply chain operations
Experience leading projects, improvement initiatives or operational change activities
Some supervisory, team coordination or people leadership exposure
Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and build relationships across teams
Good analytical skills and confidence using Microsoft Excel
SAP EWM experience would be advantageous but is not essential
This role could suit candidates currently working as a Logistics Planner, Supply Chain Analyst, Warehouse Supervisor, Logistics Coordinator, Supply Chain Coordinator, Continuous Improvement Analyst or Junior Project Manager looking for a broader challenge and clear development opportunities.

    What's in it for You?
    Salary circa £55,000
Annual bonus scheme with a strong track record of payment
    Annual share purchase scheme
    Hybrid working
    Generous pension scheme
    Life assurance and income protection
    Health and wellbeing benefits
    Employee discounts and reward schemes
Long-term training and development opportunities within an international organisation
This Logistics Improvement Lead opportunity would suit someone who wants to continue developing their leadership capability, broaden their operational experience and build a long-term career within a successful global business.
