How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    HR Casework OfficerFull Time Permanent Central London Competitive Salary

    An established and highly successful education organisation is seeking an experienced HR Casework Officer to join its central HR team. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional with strong employee relations experience to provide expert advice and support across a number of education settings.

    Working as part of a collaborative HR team, you will support senior leaders and managers by delivering a professional HR casework service, ensuring employment matters are managed fairly, consistently and in line with current legislation and best practice.

    Must have previous experience dealing with complex Employee Relations cases and an enhanced DBS on the update service to be considered for the role. 

    The RoleReporting to the Head of HR, you will:

    Manage a varied caseload of employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, capability, sickness absence, probation and performance management cases.
    Provide professional HR advice and guidance to senior leaders and line managers on employment law, HR policies and best practice.
    Support recruitment, workforce planning, job evaluations and organisational change initiatives where required.
    Assist with the development, implementation and review of HR policies and procedures.
    Support the delivery of a high-quality HR service throughout the employee lifecycle, from recruitment through to leavers.
    Produce HR reports, analyse workforce data and support strategic workforce planning.
    Build positive working relationships with trade unions, managers and other key stakeholders.
    Coach and support managers in handling day-to-day HR matters confidently and consistently.
    Ensure HR records are maintained accurately and in accordance with GDPR requirements.
    Contribute to HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance systems, processes and service delivery.The Ideal CandidateWe are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

    A recognised HR qualification (CIPD Level 5 or equivalent experience).
    Strong experience managing employee relations and HR casework.
    Excellent knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
    Previous experience within schools, colleges, universities or the wider education sector.
    Experience working within a unionised environment would be advantageous.
    Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
    Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a busy and varied workload.
    Experience producing HR reports and analysing workforce data.
    Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with experience of HR systems being desirable.What's on Offer
