How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    FRONT OF HOUSE RECEPTIONIST / INFORMATION OFFICER

    Location: Stafford College
    Part-time, Permanent Position
    30 hours per week, over 5 days
    Term Time Only 38 weeks per year
    Salary: NSUP5 £25,021 pro rata (£17,283 actual per annum)

    The group is currently home to a population of over 6,500 full-time students with around 2000 adult learners and students on higher education programmes. We have over 1,500 apprentices where we work with over 850 individual employers.  

    This role would be ideal for you if you are a customer focused individual with a strong interest and experience in the educational environment. The purpose is to provide a friendly and efficient operation of the front of house service to students, members of staff and the general public. 

    The main duties of the post holder are:

    Provide an efficient, polite and welcoming reception service to students, staff and visitors of the college
    To assist with the completion of application and enrolment documentation by students, employees or other relevant parties
    Undertake reception duties in accordance with the needs of the department, including telephone and in person enquiries, issuing temporary passes, logging absence calls, cashing up the till and other day to day issues.
    To assist with welcome events, open evenings and other internal and external events in accordance with the direction of Customer Services ManagerRequired Skills and Experience:

    Is educated to level 3 standard together with a customer services or business administration qualification.
    Experience of working in a role with a track record for providing an excellent customer experience.
    Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the confidence to deal with all college users in a polite but assertive manner.
    Possesses excellent administrative and organisational skills.What’s in it for you?
