How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Salary: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)
    Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time

    Are you an enthusiastic Science Teacher ready to spark curiosity and help young people understand the world around them? A welcoming secondary school in Sheffield is seeking a committed Science Teacher to join their team.

    About the Role:

    As a Science Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, helping pupils develop their scientific knowledge, practical skills and understanding of key concepts. You will create purposeful learning experiences, assess progress and support pupils in preparing for future study and examinations.

    Responsibilities:

    Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons across KS3 and KS4.

    Teach relevant Biology, Chemistry and Physics content where appropriate.

    Assess, monitor and record pupil progress.

    Adapt lessons to meet different learning needs and abilities.

    Develop pupils' scientific knowledge, practical skills and analytical thinking.

    Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

    Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.

    Work collaboratively with colleagues to support pupil progress.

    Contribute to the wider life of the school where appropriate.

    Requirements:

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

    Experience teaching Science within a secondary school setting.

    Strong subject knowledge across the relevant Science curriculum.

    Effective classroom and behaviour management skills.

    Excellent communication, planning and organisational skills.

    A genuine passion for delivering high-quality Science lessons.

    An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.
