Skills
* Knowledge of joinery production and processes
* Understand designs, technical drawings and written instructions
* Be competent in the use of woodworking machinery, such as panel saws, planers
* and spindle moulders, together with relevant power tools such as routers.
* Safely set up, operate and maintain workshop machinery such as panel saws,
* planners, spindle moulders, morticers and tenoners.
* Have good attention to detail and be able to work accurately
* Ability to work well with others and on your own
* Ability to work to tight deadlines
* Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations
* Ability to use, repair and maintain machines and tools
* Flexibility when following instructions on priority of work flow
Role and Responsibilities
* Know the uses of different types of wood and other materials, and use the correct ones
* Use appropriate fixtures and fittings
* Use specifications to manufacture bespoke items
* Produce items to agreed timing
* Use a range of equipment expertly and safely
* Communicate any issue with production to the Joinery Workshop Manager
* Responsible for safety and ‘housekeeping’ of own work area and overall workshop
