How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    * Respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns, disclosures and wellbeing issues.

    * Assess and escalate safeguarding risks in line with KCSIE and college procedures.

    * Provide targeted wellbeing interventions, advice and guidance to learners.

    * Support learners experiencing mental health, welfare or personal challenges.

    * Use holistic, restorative and trauma-informed approaches to help build resilience.

    * Work with curriculum and support teams to identify learners at risk of disengagement or withdrawal.

    * Maintain accurate, confidential safeguarding records using systems such as CPOMS or equivalent.

    * Work collaboratively with parents, carers and external professionals, including Local Authorities, Early Help, Children’s Services and the Police.

    About You

We’re looking for someone who is compassionate, resilient and confident, with the professional judgement to deal with sensitive and sometimes complex situations.

    You’ll ideally have:

    * A minimum Level 3 qualification in a relevant discipline such as Social Care, Mental Health or Mentoring.

    * Proven experience working in a safeguarding role with young people and/or vulnerable adults.

    * Strong knowledge of Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) and the Prevent Duty.

    * Experience supporting young people with mental health concerns and a wide range of needs.

    * Experience of positive behaviour management.

    * Knowledge of electronic recording and reporting systems.

    * Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

    * The ability to remain calm and effective under pressure and meet deadlines.

    * A genuine passion for supporting young people within a diverse and dynamic learning environment.
