How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Logistics Coordinator

Salary: Up to £28,000 depending on experience + annual bonus

    Location: Uttoxeter

Schedule: Monday to Friday, no weekends

    The Opportunity

My client is a large, well-established organisation operating within a highly regulated industrial environment. Due to continued requirements within their Uttoxeter operation, they are looking to recruit a Logistics Coordinator to join their team.

This is a varied, hands-on logistics position covering both UK and international shipments, with responsibility for coordinating transport, preparing documentation, managing goods in and out, and supporting day-to-day warehouse activities.

The role would suit someone with previous experience in logistics, warehousing, distribution, shipping or goods-in/goods-out who is comfortable combining administrative responsibilities with practical warehouse duties.

You'll be working with a range of internal teams and external logistics providers to ensure goods are prepared, documented and transported safely and efficiently by road, air and sea.

    What you'll be doing

As Logistics Officer, you'll take responsibility for coordinating the movement of goods both domestically and internationally. Your responsibilities will include:

Coordinating UK and international logistics activities, including arranging shipments and collections

Liaising with approved freight and logistics providers to organise transportation by road, air and sea

Preparing and maintaining accurate shipping, transport, customs and export documentation

Supporting the transportation of regulated and dangerous goods, ensuring the correct documentation and procedures are followed

Working alongside the company's Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA) to ensure activities comply with current transport legislation and requirements

Preparing consignments for dispatch, including packaging, labelling, palletising and securing goods appropriately

Managing goods-in and goods-out, including receiving deliveries, checking products, storing materials and preparing outgoing consignments

Ensuring shipments are correctly identified and documented before leaving site

Operating forklift trucks and other mechanical handling equipment to safely load, unload and move goods around the facility

Monitoring stocks of packaging, pallets and other materials required for dispatch

Maintaining a clean, organised and safe warehouse and logistics environment

Working closely with colleagues across the wider operation to ensure materials and products are available when required

Helping identify and resolve any issues that could impact deliveries, collections or shipping schedules.

    What we're looking for

My client is looking for someone who is organised, dependable and comfortable working in an environment where safety, accuracy and compliance are extremely important.

    You'll ideally have:

Previous experience within logistics, warehousing, distribution, shipping or a similar operational environment

Experience with goods-in/goods-out, dispatch or stock movements

    A valid forklift truck licence

Good knowledge and appreciation of manual handling and warehouse safety

Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage several activities at the same time

Good written and verbal communication skills, as you'll regularly deal with colleagues, transport providers and other stakeholders

Good general IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel

Confidence learning and working with bespoke software and database systems

The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a wider team

A careful and methodical approach to paperwork and documentation

Previous knowledge of ADR and/or IATA regulations relating to the transportation of dangerous goods would be particularly useful. However, this is not essential, as relevant training can be provided.

    What's on offer?

This is an opportunity to join a sizeable, established organisation where safety and employee development are taken seriously.

    The package includes:

Salary up to £28,000, depending on experience

    Discretionary annual bonus

    Company pension

    Life assurance

Generous annual leave and additional flexible leave benefits

    Employee recognition and reward programme

    Health and wellbeing benefits

    Retail discounts and savings

    Ongoing professional training and development

Opportunities to develop your career within a larger organisation

If you have experience within logistics or warehousing and are looking for a varied role where you can develop your experience across UK and international operations, this could be a great next step.

My client is looking for someone who can bring a strong work ethic, attention to detail and a safety-first approach to the team. If that sounds like you, please apply and I’ll be in touch to discuss the opportunity in more detail
