We're looking for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with a strong mechanical bias to join a leading Facilities Management provider on a site-based position in Hertfordshire.
š¢ This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled mechanical engineer to take responsibility for the planned preventative and reactive maintenance of a wide range of mechanical building services, ensuring critical plant and equipment operate safely, efficiently and reliably.
š§ What You'll Be Doing:
āļø Carrying out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across mechanical building services and associated plant.
š”ļø Maintaining and servicing heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems to agreed service levels.
š§ Maintaining evaporative cooling systems and domestic water systems in line with relevant standards and requirements.
š© Carrying out maintenance and fault-finding on pumps, motors, valves and associated mechanical equipment.
š Diagnosing plant faults and defects and carrying out effective repairs to minimise downtime.
š ļø Supporting maintenance activities across other site-based mechanical plant and equipment as required.
š Completing accurate maintenance records, task sheets and associated documentation.
š Preparing and following Method Statements and Risk Assessments to ensure safe working practices.
𦺠Ensuring all maintenance activities comply with Health & Safety legislation, company procedures and site requirements.
š¤ Building strong working relationships with colleagues, contractors and site personnel.
š Maintaining and developing technical knowledge through ongoing training and professional development.
š· What We're Looking For:
š§ Formally trained or qualified in Mechanical Services Maintenance.
āļø Proven experience maintaining pumps, motors and valves.
š”ļø Experience working with cooling towers or evaporative cooling systems.
š ļø Strong practical experience within mechanical maintenance, building services or Facilities Management.
𦺠Sound understanding of Health & Safety requirements relating to maintenance activities.
š Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
š¬ Good verbal communication skills and strong written English.
š¤ A customer-focused approach with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
šŖ Physically capable of carrying tools and components weighing up to 20kg.
šļø Comfortable working at heights, on roofs and using vertical access equipment.
ā Desirable Experience:
š» Basic knowledge or experience of Building Management Systems (BMS).
š Formal Health & Safety training.
š§ Relevant certification for the maintenance and operation of evaporative cooling systems.
š¢ Previous experience working on a client-resident or site-based environment.
š A commitment to ongoing technical training and professional development.
