How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Our client is a leading infrastructure contractor working on Major Projects across the Railway, Highways and Power sectors, and specialising in the delivery of sustainable mechanical, electrical and telecommunication engineering solutions.

    They have recently tendered and been awarded a number of Major Project M&E packages and are looking to build a project design, delivery and commercial team, with over 5 years guaranteed work.

    The BIM Technician is responsible for producing and coordinating CAD drawings and BIM models across a range of projects, supporting project teams, coordinators, and managers.

    BIM Technician roles and responsibilities:

    The role includes assisting in the implementation and adherence to BIM standards, ensuring all models, drawings, and data are developed in line with company and project requirements.
    The technician will contribute to project workflows by maintaining accurate and up-to-date models and documentation, supporting coordination between disciplines, and helping to identify and resolve design clashes.
    Assist in the delivery and coordination of projects from technical design through to construction, utilising Autodesk & Bentley software.
    Support the implementation of best practices and consistent processes across projects, liaising with stakeholders and supply chain partners to maintain quality and consistency.
    Develop and manage 2D and 3D models and associated documentation using industry-standard CAD and BIM tools such as MicroStation & OpenBuildings Designer.
    Ensure models are fully coordinated by applying clash detection and avoidance techniques within a federated BIM environment or digital model.
    Produce high-quality 3D models and detailed construction drawings, ensuring alignment with overall project information requirements.BIM Technician requirements:

    HNC or HND in Engineering/Design.
    Proficient use of the following Software Packages: Bentley MicroStation and Bentley OpenBuildings Designer.
