How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer – Electrical Bias

    📍 Leeds
    💷 £35 per hour

    ⏰ Days: 6am–2pm / 2pm–10pm

    We are currently recruiting for an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias to join a busy food manufacturing site in Leeds on an initial 6-month contract.

    This is a days-based rotating shift role, working 6am–2pm and 2pm–10pm, offering an excellent opportunity for an electrically skilled maintenance engineer who is confident working in a fast-paced FMCG environment and can hit the ground running.

    The Role

    You will be responsible for keeping production equipment running safely and efficiently, carrying out a combination of reactive breakdown maintenance, planned preventative maintenance (PPM), fault finding and continuous improvement.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Electrical fault finding and repair on production machinery.

    * Carry out reactive and planned maintenance across the site.

    * Diagnose faults on motors, drives, sensors, control circuits and automated equipment.

    * Mechanical fault finding and repairs when required.

    * Work on pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

    * Support production during breakdowns and minimise equipment downtime.

    * Carry out PPMs and equipment inspections.

    * Support engineering improvements and machinery modifications.

    * Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.

    * Work safely in line with site health & safety and food manufacturing standards.

    The Ideal Candidate

    * Experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer with a strong electrical bias.

    * Previous experience within food manufacturing, FMCG or a similar production environment.

    * Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

    * Good mechanical maintenance knowledge.

    * Experience with motors, drives, sensors, control systems and production machinery.

    * Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

    * Qualified to NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC or equivalent.

    * Able to work independently and respond effectively to breakdowns.

    * Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.

    * Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.

    * Available to work 6am–2pm / 2pm–10pm rotating shifts.
