How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

A respected independent property and construction consultancy is seeking a Director of Monitoring Surveying to join their London team and play a central role in the continued growth of their Monitoring Surveying & Due Diligence division. This is a senior strategic appointment for an established Director of Monitoring Surveying with a strong reputation across lender advisory, development monitoring and due diligence.

The successful Director of Monitoring Surveying will lead major commissions for institutional lenders, investors, developers and other key stakeholders, providing high-level advice across complex development projects. Alongside project delivery, the Director of Monitoring Surveying will take responsibility for strengthening senior client relationships, generating new instructions and supporting the commercial development of the service line.

Working closely with the existing divisional leadership, the Director of Monitoring Surveying will also help shape future strategy, mentor team members and provide senior leadership across the department. This opportunity would suit an ambitious Director of Monitoring Surveying who wants genuine influence over the direction, succession planning and long-term expansion of an established specialist team.

Director of Monitoring Surveying - Key Responsibilities:

Leading complex monitoring surveying and due diligence commissions

Advising lenders, investors and development stakeholders on project risk, progress and funding

Developing and maintaining relationships with senior institutional clients

Identifying new instructions and contributing to wider business development

Managing, mentoring and developing members of the monitoring team

Supporting divisional strategy, resource planning and future service growth

Acting as deputy to the existing divisional lead when required

Director of Monitoring Surveying - Candidate Requirements:

Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying, Commercial Management or a related construction discipline

    MRICS qualification strongly preferred

Extensive UK monitoring surveying, lender advisory or development monitoring experience

Established market profile with strong relationships across lenders, investors or developers

Proven experience leading significant commissions independently

Strong commercial, leadership and business development capabilities

Detailed understanding of construction, procurement, development finance and project risk

    In Return:

    £95,000 - £110,000 per annum

Influential Director-level position within a specialist London team

Opportunity to shape the future growth of an established service line

High-level exposure to institutional clients and major development commissions

Clear involvement in succession planning and long-term business strategy
