How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    CDM Principal Designer

    A well-established construction and engineering consultancy in Newcastle is seeking a CDM Principal Designer to join their growing Health & Safety team.

    The successful CDM Principal Designer will work alongside Civil and Structural Engineers, Project Managers and other construction professionals on a varied portfolio of projects across the Northeast and wider UK.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a CDM Principal Designer looking for varied project exposure within a close-knit and technically experienced consultancy.

    The CDM Principal Designer Role

    The CDM Principal Designer will deliver Principal Designer and CDM advisory services, working closely with clients, designers and contractors throughout the pre-construction and construction phases.

    Responsibilities will include managing design risk, attending design and site meetings, advising clients on their CDM duties, reviewing project documentation and undertaking Health & Safety site inspections where required.

    You will also support clients and project teams with wider Health & Safety and CDM advice across a broad range of construction projects.

    The CDM Principal Designer

    The successful candidate will ideally have:

    Experience within a CDM Principal Designer or CDM Advisor role
    Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015
    NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate, or working towards
    A good understanding of design and construction processes
    IOSH and/or APS membership would be advantageous
    Strong client-facing and communication skillsIn Return?
