How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Learning Support Assistant - Amersham, Buckinghamshire

Learning support opportunities across primary, secondary and SEN education.

Opportunities include whole-class, intervention and 1:1 pupil support.

An experienced Learning Support Assistant is required to join school-based teams supporting pupils across primary, secondary and SEN provisions in Amersham, Buckinghamshire. These opportunities are suited to professionals with previous experience working with young people, who can provide consistent and effective classroom support.

    What Makes These Opportunities Different?

Rather than being limited to one type of support, available positions can involve a mixture of whole-class assistance, small-group intervention work and 1:1 pupil support.

This could include helping pupils understand and complete classroom tasks, reinforcing learning introduced by the teacher, supporting pupils who require additional assistance or helping individuals develop greater independence.

There are opportunities within mainstream and specialist environments, providing scope for candidates with different areas of education experience.

    Responsibilities

Support pupils throughout lessons and learning activities.
Provide individual assistance where identified by the school.
Assist with intervention programmes and targeted learning.
Encourage pupils to participate positively in lessons.
Help maintain an orderly and supportive learning environment.
Work closely with teachers and wider support teams.
Support pupils with their academic, social and emotional development.
Follow school procedures and individual pupil strategies.
Promote independence rather than creating unnecessary reliance on adult support.

    You will need:

Previous experience working with children or young people.
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    Patience, consistency and professionalism.
The ability to respond appropriately to different pupil needs.
A genuine interest in supporting young people to progress.SEN experience is beneficial, although candidates with strong transferable experience will also be considered.

    Benefits of Working with Tradewind

You will receive support from Charlie, an education consultant with over 10 years of experience within the education sector, alongside a streamlined onboarding process.

Tradewind also provides FREE access to 2,500+ CPD courses, webinars and resources, alongside opportunities within mainstream, SEN and alternative provision settings.
