How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established heavy manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically skilled engineer looking to work within a challenging, high-volume production environment where reliability, safety and continuous improvement are key.

    You will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving a wide range of heavy manufacturing machinery and production equipment, ensuring maximum plant availability and minimising downtime.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Carry out planned, preventative and reactive electrical maintenance across the manufacturing site.

    * Diagnose and repair electrical faults on production machinery and plant.

    * Work with PLC-controlled systems, sensors, motors, drives and control panels.

    * Respond quickly to breakdowns and minimise production downtime.

    * Complete electrical inspections and testing in line with company procedures.

    * Support mechanical maintenance activities where required.

    * Identify recurring faults and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

    * Assist with installation, commissioning and modification of new and existing equipment.

    * Maintain accurate maintenance records and update the CMMS system.

    * Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health & safety and electrical regulations.

    The Ideal Candidate

    The successful candidate will have:

    * A recognised electrical engineering qualification such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent.

    * Previous experience working as a Maintenance Engineer within a heavy manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment.

    * Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

    * Experience with 3-phase systems, motors, inverters/drives, sensors and control systems.

    * Ideally, experience working with PLCs and automated production machinery.

    * A proactive approach to preventative maintenance and continuous improvement.

    * The ability to work effectively under pressure in a demanding production environment.

    * A strong commitment to health & safety.
