How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Year 3/4 Teacher - Newport
    September 2026 Start

Are you a Primary Teacher looking for your first teaching role or a new opportunity in Key Stage 2?

Academics is a renowned education recruitment agency, working with a well-established primary school in Newport who are looking to appoint a Year 3/4 Teacher from September 2026.

The school is looking for a teacher to join their team and take responsibility for a Year 3/4 class. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children in Key Stage 2 and wants to be part of a supportive school where they can develop their teaching and build strong relationships with pupils.

You will be responsible for planning and delivering lessons across the primary curriculum, helping pupils develop their confidence and independence as they progress through Key Stage 2. You'll work closely with the wider teaching team and have support available as you settle into the role.

The school would be happy to consider applications from Newly Qualified Teachers and more experienced Primary Teachers. Most importantly, they are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about teaching, has a positive approach to behaviour and wants to make a difference to the pupils they work with.

    What we're looking for:
    * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), including newly qualified teachers.
    * A genuine interest in teaching within Key Stage 2.
    * A positive and enthusiastic approach to working with pupils.
    * The ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons across the primary curriculum.
    * Good classroom management and communication skills.
    * The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and families.
    * A willingness to work as part of a supportive school team.
    * An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
    * Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
    * Two recent professional references.

    Why apply through Academics?
