How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Compliance Engineer / Quality Engineer

    Location Halesowen

    Salary & Hours £35k Monday - Thursday 08:00 - 16:30 and Friday 08:00 - 16:00

    We are currently recruiting for a Compliance Engineer - Quality to join a busy metal manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quality professional with a background in foundry, forging or machining to take responsibility for maintaining and improving quality and compliance standards across multiple sites.

    The successful candidate will ensure that manufacturing processes, products and quality systems comply with customer requirements, legal requirements and internal standards, while driving a strong culture of continuous improvement.

    Key Responsibilities

    Ensure manufacturing processes comply with customer specifications, quality standards and legal/regulatory requirements.
    Maintain and uphold the company's Quality Management System (QMS).
    Conduct internal and process quality audits, identifying areas of non-compliance and opportunities for improvement.
    Support customer and external audits where required.
    Investigate quality issues, non-conformances and customer complaints, ensuring effective corrective and preventative actions are implemented.
    Lead or support 8D investigations and root-cause analysis.
    Utilise quality tools including 8D, PPS, PFMEA and APQP to identify, investigate and prevent quality issues.
    Monitor and review quality performance, trends and key performance indicators.
    Work closely with production, engineering and management teams to improve processes and product quality.
    Ensure appropriate quality documentation, procedures and records are maintained and up to date.
    Support the introduction of new products and processes from a quality and compliance perspective.
    Review and update risk assessments, process documentation and control measures.
    Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, waste and customer complaints.
    Ensure corrective actions are followed through to completion and are effective.
    Provide guidance and support to production teams on quality requirements and procedures.
    Liaise with customers and suppliers on quality-related matters where required.
    Travel to other company sites in Halesowen and the surrounding area as required.

    The Ideal Candidate

    The successful candidate will have proven experience within a quality/compliance engineering role in a metal manufacturing environment.

    Essential:

    Previous experience working within a foundry, forge/forging or machining environment.
    Experience conducting quality audits.
    Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems.
    Practical experience using quality tools such as:
    8D
    PPS / Problem Solving
    PFMEA
    APQP
    Good understanding of customer and legal quality requirements.
    Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.
    Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach.
    Full UK driving licence - essential, as the role will involve travelling to other sites in Halesowen.
    Good IT skills, including confidence working with quality documentation, reports and Microsoft Office systems.
    Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with production, engineering and management teams.
