How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

I’m currently partnering with an innovative and growing technology business in Harrogate that is looking to recruit a Commercial Finance Manager to join its finance team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially focused finance professional to take a key role in supporting growth, improving financial performance, and providing insight to senior leadership. Working closely with teams across Sales, Product, Operations, and Marketing, you’ll help translate financial data into clear commercial insight and support the business in making informed strategic decisions.

Reporting to the Finance Director / Head of Finance, you’ll take ownership of budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, financial analysis, and commercial business partnering. You’ll play a key role in understanding revenue performance, profitability, costs, and cash generation while helping the business scale effectively.

This is a broad and high-impact role within a fast-paced technology environment, offering excellent exposure to senior stakeholders and the opportunity to influence the future direction of a growing business.

    Key responsibilities:

Taking ownership of commercial finance and financial performance across the business
Leading the annual budgeting, forecasting, and longer-term financial planning processes
Producing insightful monthly management reporting and performance analysis
Analysing revenue, gross margin, operating costs, profitability, and key commercial KPIs
Supporting analysis of recurring revenue, customer performance, retention, and growth where relevant
Acting as a trusted Finance Business Partner to senior stakeholders across Sales, Product, Operations, and Marketing
Providing financial insight and challenge to support strategic and commercial decision-making
Developing financial models, scenario analysis, and business cases to support growth initiatives
Monitoring performance against budget and forecast, identifying risks and opportunities
Supporting pricing, investment, headcount, and resource allocation decisions
Improving forecasting accuracy, reporting processes, and the use of financial data across the business
Providing clear and commercially focused recommendations to the senior leadership team
Supporting the Finance Director with strategic projects, acquisitions, investment cases, and other ad-hoc analysis where required
Helping develop and improve the commercial finance function as the business continues to grow
    About you:

ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified, or qualified by experience
Previous experience in Commercial Finance, FP&A, Finance Business Partnering, or a similar role
Strong experience across budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and financial modelling
Commercially minded with the confidence to challenge and influence senior stakeholders
Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn complex data into clear commercial insight
Excellent Excel and financial modelling skills; experience with BI/reporting tools would be advantageous
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
Proactive, curious, and comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving environment
Experience within technology, SaaS, software, digital, or another high-growth environment would be highly advantageous
This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking to join a growing technology business where finance is genuinely valued as a commercial function. If you’re looking for a role where you can work closely with senior leadership, influence strategic decisions, and play a key part in supporting sustainable growth, I’d be keen to speak with you.
