How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Generator Engineer - Carnforth
    Salary Circ £35,000 - £40,000 + Bonus + Company Van + OT + Benefits + Annual Bonus

    A Well established plant hire company with UK coverage are seeking an Generator Engineer with diesel generator experience to join their team in Carnforth.

    Role Responsibilities

    As part of the team, you’ll help ensure generators and related equipment run safely and reliably. This includes diesel tanks, AdBlue systems, cabling, and other accessories across the region. Your key responsibilities will include:

    * Supporting the sites depot by helping reduce equipment backlogs, both on-site and at the home depot.

    * Carrying out larger repairs and refurbishments when required.

    * Helping the depot and regional teams keep all servicing up to date, both in the depot and on customer sites.

    * Travelling to different sites, occasionally with overnight stays. Travel time is paid (excluding the first and last 30 minutes of the day).

    * Using a company tablet to record services, breakdowns and regeneration tasks.

    * Providing friendly, professional customer support face-to-face and over the phone.

    General Fitter Duties

    * Diagnosing and repairing a variety of Stage V generators, MDUs and AMF panels

    * Checking, tagging and updating equipment records using our digital system.

    * Following the Lock Out / Tag Out process to maintain safety at all times.

    * Servicing, maintaining, installing and repairing diesel-driven equipment.

    * Working safely, wearing the correct PPE and reporting any incidents promptly.

    * Following customer Health & Safety rules while on their sites.

    * Keeping the workshop and your vehicle (if provided) clean, tidy and well-organised.

    * Assisting with general workshop tasks as needed.

    What We’re Looking For

    * Experience working with generators and related equipment.

    * A relevant generator qualification or time-served engineering background.

    * City & Guilds / CITB / NVQ qualifications (18th Edition preferred).

    * A full driving licence.

    * A flexible, positive attitude and willingness to adapt to changing needs.

    * Strong mechanical and electrical skills, with confident fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
