How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Opportunity

    I’m currently recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to join a leading organisation operating within the UK defence sector at its Shoeburyness site.

    Projects will range from general building maintenance and refurbishment through to technical repairs, infrastructure works and new-build construction, giving you responsibility across the full project lifecycle from initial planning and procurement through to delivery and final handover.

    Key Responsibilities

    As Project Manager, you will be responsible for:

    * Managing projects from initial planning and procurement through to delivery, completion and handover.

    * Developing project delivery and procurement strategies alongside the Procurement Team.

    * Managing project budgets, cost plans and financial performance.

    * Coordinating principal contractors, consultants and wider project stakeholders.

    * Overseeing construction, refurbishment, technical repair and building-related works.

    * Managing project programmes, risks, documentation and reporting.

    * Ensuring projects are delivered safely, compliantly, on time and within budget.

    * Managing bids, proposals, contracts and third-party project documentation.

    * Ensuring compliance with CDM Regulations, Building Regulations and relevant defence standards.

    * Working with Facilities Management teams to ensure completed projects are successfully transitioned into ongoing operation.

    What We’re Looking For

    We’re looking for someone with previous Project Management experience within construction, estates, facilities management or infrastructure projects.

    You should have experience or working knowledge of:

    * Delivering construction and refurbishment projects.

    * NEC contracts.

    * CDM Regulations, ideally having acted in a Client or similar capacity on construction projects.

    * Building Regulations.

    * Planning applications and GPDO processes.

    * Sustainability and energy considerations within project delivery.

    * Managing contractors and technical works.

    * Budget, programme and commercial management.

    * Defence environments and JSP standards would be advantageous.

    An industry-recognised Project Management qualification such as APM, PRINCE2 or PMP is required.

    The Package

    £50,400 – £60,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package.

    The position is based at a secure defence site in Shoeburyness, Essex, with an average minimum requirement of three days per week onsite.

    This would suit a Project Manager looking to join a technically interesting environment with a diverse portfolio of construction, refurbishment and infrastructure projects
