How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Public Sector Sales Consultant

Location: Surrey (flexible/hybrid after probation) Salary: £60,000 – £65,000 OTE (base + commission/bonus, subject to experience)

    Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9am – 6pm

    About Our Client

Our client is an innovative software company that has been delivering sophisticated digital solutions to public and private sector organisations since 1998. Their flagship product is a trusted communications and engagement platform used by local authorities, NHS trusts, and central government departments — helping teams inform and engage citizens, promote initiatives, share policy updates, and more, all in a secure, accessible and impactful way.

They're proud to be part of the G-Cloud and Digital Outcomes & Specialists (DOS) frameworks, supporting the UK public sector's digital transformation journey. With thousands of users and a commitment to continuous innovation, theirs is a mature, stable platform that continues to grow — and they're looking for a Sales Consultant who is excited to grow with them.

    The Role

Our client is hiring a Public Sector Sales Consultant to drive growth by building on their strong reputation and relationships across local and central government, the NHS, police, and wider public sector bodies.

This is a relationship-led sales role — not cold calling, not chasing random leads. Their growth is driven by the trust they've built in the sector through long-standing engagement, event sponsorships, and consistent delivery. You will focus on turning that visibility into conversations, and those conversations into opportunities.

They're looking for someone who knows the public sector landscape, understands how to navigate procurement and tenders, and can represent the business with credibility at events, meetings, and strategic discussions.

Experience selling to public sector organisations is essential for this role.

    What You'll Do

    * Convert sector relationships and event exposure into qualified sales opportunities

    * Lead conversations with public sector stakeholders and decision-makers

    * Drive demand generation by leveraging the company's presence at industry events and conferences

    * Respond to tenders and write winning proposals

    * Help grow the public sector customer portfolio by focusing on reputation, trust, and long-term value

    Key Responsibilities

    Business development

    * Monitor procurement portals for relevant opportunities

    * Identify and qualify new sales opportunities

    * Follow up on interest generated through marketing and partner activity

    * Influence procurement discussions by demonstrating a strong understanding of public sector challenges and requirements

    Prospect engagement & relationship building

    * Develop and enhance customer relationships before, during and after the conclusion of contracts

    * Track and log activities and use intelligence tools to maintain and enhance pipeline

    * Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling

    * Engage with public sector leaders to understand their priorities and align the company's solutions to their strategic goals

    * Represent the business at events, conferences, and sponsorship opportunities to enhance brand visibility and credibility

    * Act as a trusted point of contact for prospects and public sector partners, maintaining open and professional communication

    Bid & tender management

    * Coordinate the preparation and submission of tenders

    * Develop clear, tailored responses and proposals that address the customer's brief and requirements

    * Collaborate with internal teams to ensure bids reflect product capabilities and align with strategic goals

    * Manage the tender process, tracking opportunities from initial identification through submission and post-submission feedback

    Professional conduct

    * Represent the business with professionalism, credibility, and integrity at all public engagements

    * Champion company values in every interaction, reinforcing status as a trusted, ethical public sector partner

    Career Progression

    * Work alongside the Chief Commercial Officer, with potential to move into senior or strategic roles as the business grows

    * Influence customer strategy and contribute to innovation projects

    Benefits

    * Private health insurance (after year one)

    * Company pension scheme

    * Friendly, supportive team culture with room to grow
