How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    £105-£115 PER DAY | FLEXIBLE DAY-TO-DAY WORK | TERM-TIME ONLY
Want to make a real difference to young people who need someone in their corner?
We are working in partnership with an Alternative Provision school in Hull (HU2) that specialises in re-engaging children and young people with education.
We are looking for a compassionate, resilient and experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant who can build positive relationships with pupils, support their emotional wellbeing and help them take steps back towards successful learning.

Work when you're available and fit your schoolwork around your schedule.

THIS ROLE IS ABOUT MORE THAN LEARNING
The pupils in this setting may have experienced barriers to education, challenging circumstances or difficulties engaging with mainstream school.
Your role will be about helping them rebuild confidence, develop positive relationships and discover that education can work for them.

    Every small step matters.

    THE ROLE
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:
    * Support pupils with SEND and SEMH needs
    * Build trusting and positive relationships with young people

    * Provide one-to-one and small-group support
    * Help manage behaviour using positive and consistent strategies
    * Support pupils with emotional regulation
    * Encourage confidence, independence and resilience
    * Work closely with teaching and pastoral staff
    * Help create a safe, calm and supportive learning environment
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is patient, understanding and genuinely passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to education.

    UK SCHOOL EXPERIENCE IS ESSENTIAL
To be considered for this position, you MUST have previous experience working in a UK school.
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience supporting:
    ✅ SEND
    ✅ SEMH
    ✅ Behaviour
    ✅ Challenging behaviour
    ✅ Alternative Provision
    ✅ One-to-one interventions
✅ Pupils who have struggled to engage with mainstream education
Experience in an Alternative Provision or specialist setting would be highly desirable.
