How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    As an Electrical Engineer in London, you'll play a key role in maintaining and improving electrical systems within a education organisation. This role supports the facilities management team, ensuring systems run efficiently and safely.

    Electrical Engineer Key Responsibilities:

    Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance works.
    Diagnose and repair electrical faults across distribution boards, lighting, power systems, and control panels.
    Undertake statutory inspections, testing, and compliance activities including emergency lighting and electrical systems.
    Support installation, modification, and upgrade projects.
    Record maintenance activities using mobile and digital reporting systems.
    Ensure compliance with current electrical regulations, health and safety legislation, and university procedures.
    Participate in audits, compliance reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
    Support apprentices and junior colleagues through knowledge sharing and mentoring.
    Participate in the engineering on-call rota, responding to urgent issues when required.Profile

    A successful Electrical Engineer should have:

    Recognised electrical qualification such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, AM2, JTL Apprenticeship, or equivalent.
    18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification.
    Experience in a maintenance-focused electrical engineering role.
    Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
    Good understanding of electrical compliance and health & safety requirements.
    Knowledge of building services and safe working practices.
    Comfortable using digital systems including CAFM software, tablets, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and email.
    Ability to work independently and effectively under pressure.Job Offer
