How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Organisation Description

    Our Environment Business delivers water infrastructure projects across the UK, with over £2bn of assets delivered for major clients including Yorkshire Water, United Utilities, Anglian Water, Thames Water, Southern Water, Welsh Water and Scottish Water.

    With places secured on several major water frameworks, we deliver both infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects ranging from £1m–£40m, offering an excellent opportunity to join an established and growing team.

    Role Overview

    We are looking for a Site Manager to join our team on the Northumbrian Water Framework, delivering projects across clean and wastewater treatment sites.

    Reporting to the Senior Site Manager, you will manage and coordinate day-to-day site activities, working with internal teams, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, to specification and to a high standard.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Manage Mechanical, Electrical and Civil site installation schemes across water and wastewater treatment sites.

    * Lead daily site operations to ensure compliance with SHE legislation, contractual timescales and specifications.

    * Conduct regular toolbox talks, site inductions, and safety briefings.

    * Ensure accurate documentation including Method Statements, Risk Assessments and testing records.

    * Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors and in-house teams to coordinate delivery and logistics.

    * Monitor site costs, contribute to progress reports and attend project meetings.

    * Drive a culture of safety, accountability and collaboration.

    Requirements:

    * You will have experience in the water and/or waste water sectors, ideally gained on active construction sites.

    * An industry-relevant ONC / City & Guilds / NVQ qualification.

    * Site-based experience in infrastructure / water-related projects.

    * SMSTS, IOSH or CITB 5-Day Site Safety certification.

    * A relevant CSCS card, First Aid training and EUSR accreditation.

    * Organised and professional approach to work.

    * Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and build relationships.

    * Passion for quality, safety and customer service.
