How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are seeking an experienced night shift engineer to join a growing engineering team. In this pivotal role, you will take ownership of maintaining and enhancing our mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems. Your responsibilities will encompass Planned Preventative Maintenance, swift resolution of system breakdowns, defect repairs, and the overall upkeep and optimization of our depot facilities and automation systems.

    A leading distribution centre in Birmingham, supplying providers with a wide range of essential products. It plays an important role in ensuring supplies are delivered efficiently and reliably across the region.

    Description

    Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on equipment and systems.
    Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues efficiently.
    Ensure compliance with health and safety standards at all times.
    Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
    Maintenance of volume picking machinery through scheduled maintenance.
    Engage and manage external contractors.
    Immediate response to any breakdowns with the production equipment in accordance with the production hours.
    Assisting and manage the delivery of Supply Chain technical projects. Mon - Thurs 10pm - 6am Fri 7pm - 3am

    OR

    Mon - Thurs 8pm - 4am

    Profile

    Minimum recognised Level 3 electrical and mechanical qualification.
    Experience working within a maintenance department.
    Experience working with automated conveyor systems.
    Experience fault finding within a an electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
    Desirable qualifications: IOSH or NEBOSH.
