How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    BDM - Bridging & BTL

Location: London Head Office / Field Based
Salary: Up to £65,000 depending on experience
    Function: Lending
Reports to: Head of Relationship Management
    Dotted Line: Chief Lending Officer

    About the Role

We are looking for an ambitious and commercially minded BDM - Bridging & BTL to join our Lending team and play a key role in driving business growth across the UK.

This is a field-based business development role, focused on building strong, long-term relationships with brokers and introducers and generating high-quality new lending opportunities across Bridging and Buy-to-Let.

You will be the face of the Bank in the broker market, developing new relationships, strengthening existing partnerships and helping brokers navigate the lending journey from initial opportunity through to completion.

The successful candidate will be proactive, relationship-led and commercially driven, with a strong understanding of the specialist lending market and a proven track record of delivering against business development targets.

    Key Responsibilities

    Business Development & Origination

Proactively identify and source high-quality lending opportunities through existing and new broker and introducer relationships.
Build, develop and maintain a strong network of brokers and introducers, with a clear focus on generating new business.
Conduct regular broker visits across London and the wider market to identify opportunities, understand market trends and convert prospects into completed deals.
Represent the Bank at industry events, conferences, networking forums and broker meetings to increase market visibility and strengthen relationships.
Develop relationships with national and regional broker networks, aligning business development activity with local market opportunities and the Bank's strategic objectives.
Maintain an active pipeline and consistently work towards agreed new business and performance targets.
Provide brokers with a high level of service and market insight, positioning the Bank as a trusted lending partner.

    Deal Management & Collaboration

Ensure broker-submitted applications are accurately packaged, complete and aligned with internal credit and compliance requirements.
Work closely with Credit, Underwriting, Operations and Completions to ensure cases progress efficiently and issues are resolved promptly.
Maintain strong communication with brokers throughout the lending process, helping to deliver a smooth and positive customer experience.
Monitor pipeline activity and performance, providing accurate updates against agreed KPIs.
Share market intelligence and broker feedback internally to help shape the Bank's proposition and identify new opportunities.

    About You

We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running and make an immediate positive impact.

    You will ideally have:

A proven track record of achieving business development targets within Bridging, Buy-to-Let and/or Commercial Mortgages.
An established network of brokers and introducers, with the ability and desire to continue expanding it.
Strong knowledge of the UK specialist lending market.
Excellent communication, influencing and relationship management skills.
A strong understanding of the end-to-end lending process, particularly across Bridging and Buy-to-Let.
The ability to operate within lending guidelines while balancing commercial opportunities with sound risk awareness.
Knowledge of risk management, core lending principles and financial analysis.
Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
A proactive, entrepreneurial and commercially focused approach.
The confidence and motivation to spend significant time in the market meeting brokers, introducers and industry contacts.

    Qualifications & Experience

A degree or higher education qualification would be advantageous, although significant relevant industry experience will be equally valued.

Professional qualifications or accreditations from recognised industry bodies are desirable, alongside a commitment to continued professional development.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone with demonstrable experience in a relevant business development or relationship management role and a genuine passion for specialist lending.

    Why Join Us?

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced BDM to join a growing lending business and have a genuine impact on its broker proposition and future growth.

You'll have the opportunity to build your own broker network, develop long-term commercial relationships and play a key role in delivering the Bank's growth strategy across the Bridging and Buy-to-Let markets.

If you're a driven specialist lending BDM with a strong broker network and a passion for winning new business, we'd love to hear from you
