How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

HSE Recruitment are working with a large manufacturing business who are seeking an established HSE Manager to join in the midst of a rapidly scaling construction project in the South West.

The role will be based in Bridgewater and requires someone who lives in the area or who is going to relocate.

We are seeking an adaptable individual who will lead the development, implementation and governance of a global HSE management system, ensuring consistent, high standards across all sites. Being a high-hazard environment, strong governance and collaboration are critical.

You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders to embed strategic HSE objectives, work cross-functionally with global site teams, drive compliance with regulatory and ISO requirements, and ensure policies are effectively deployed across the business.

You’ll oversee audit programmes, monitor leading and lagging performance indicators, and provide clear, executive-level reporting. A key part of the role will be driving incident learning—reviewing events, identifying trends and embedding improvements across multiple locations to continually enhance safety, compliance and environmental performance.

    What we are looking for:

Strong experience in HSE management within regulated or high-hazard industries, ideally within a COMAH environment.
You’ll bring expertise in ISO 45001 and ISO 14001, alongside experience in auditing, compliance and multi-site governance.
You’ll be a confident communicator and influencer, comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders, challenging where needed and translating data into meaningful actions.
NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) level qualification.
Professional accreditation such as CMIOSH, MIEMA or equivalent is expected.

The salary and package includes; Salary up to £78,000 DOE, car allowance £6,840. 12.5% bonus, 25 days annual leave + BH, life assurance x 4, income protection and 5% matched pension. If you are open to relocation, there is a relocation package.
