How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    SEN Teaching Assistant - Specialist SEN School - Barnet Full Time | Term Time Only | September 2026 Start Long Term Role | Immediate Interviews

    Long Term Futures are recruiting dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to join a specialist SEN school in Barnet from September 2026.

    The school supports pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and is looking for individuals who can provide consistent, engaging and personalised support throughout the school day.

    Interviews and trial days are taking place immediately for September, so candidates interested in securing their next SEN role before the new academic year are encouraged to apply now.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEN
    Support pupils with needs including ASD, ADHD, learning difficulties and communication needs
    Adapt classroom activities to meet individual learning needs
    Support pupils with emotional regulation, engagement and independence
    Work alongside teachers, therapists and other SEN professionals
    Follow individual support plans and EHCP targets
    Help maintain a structured, positive and inclusive learning environment

    Ideal Candidate Will Have:

    Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN
    Experience with Autism (ASD) or complex learning needs is highly desirable
    A patient, resilient and understanding approach
    Strong communication and relationship-building skills
    Confidence providing both 1:1 and group support
    Experience within an SEN school, specialist provision, mainstream SEN department, care or youth setting is desirable

    Accessible via the Northern Line, including High Barnet, Totteridge & Whetstone and Finchley Central
    National Rail connections through New Barnet
    Strong bus links throughout the borough
    Accessible from Enfield, Finchley, Edgware, Borehamwood and surrounding North London areas
