How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
    Location: Canterbury
    Salary: £93.30 per day
    Start Date: Immediate
    Contract Type: Full-Time / Part-Time, Long-Term / Day-to-Day

    Are you a caring and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with additional needs?

    GSL Education Kent Branch are seeking a motivated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to work with fabulous schools in Canterbury. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and helping them develop their confidence, learning, and independence.

    As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide tailored support to pupils, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential.

    Key Responsibilities of the Special Educational Needs TA:

    Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with SEN.
    Assist pupils with their learning and classroom activities.
    Support students with their social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
    Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
    Encourage pupils to participate confidently in lessons and school activities.
    Support teachers with classroom management and learning activities.
    Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
    Requirements for the SEN TA role:

    Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.
    Experience supporting pupils with SEN, SEND, SEMH, or behavioural needs is an advantage.
    A caring, patient, and positive approach.
    Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
    Ability to work effectively as part of a school team.
    A genuine passion for supporting pupils and helping them achieve their potential.
    An enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
