How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Production Manager – Due to the specialist nature of this role and our client’s requirements, previous experience within the window and door industry is essential. Unfortunately, applications from candidates without relevant industry experience will not be considered.

Chase Taylor Recruitment are currently working on behalf of a leading UK window and door manufacturer who are looking to appoint an experienced Production Manager to join their manufacturing operation.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager, or Senior Production Supervisor with a background in window and door manufacturing, fenestration, or a similar manufacturing environment.

The business is an established UK trade fabricator, manufacturing a range of uPVC and aluminium windows and doors, alongside other specialist glazing products. With an established reputation within the trade and continued investment in its manufacturing operation, this is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their career.

    The Role

As Production Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the manufacturing operation, ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining high standards of quality, efficiency, health and safety, and customer service.

You will lead and develop the production team, manage workloads and production schedules, and ensure orders are manufactured accurately and within agreed timescales. You will also work closely with other departments across the business, including sales, technical, logistics, purchasing, and senior management, to ensure the smooth running of the operation.

A key part of the role will be identifying opportunities to improve productivity, reduce waste, improve quality, and streamline manufacturing processes. You will monitor production performance and KPIs, address issues as they arise, and drive a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement across the production floor.

This is a hands-on management position where you will be expected to understand the manufacturing process and be comfortable working closely with the production team to achieve the required standards and output.

    About You

We are looking for an experienced production professional who understands the demands of a busy manufacturing environment and has a strong track record of managing people and production performance.

Ideally, you will have experience within window and door or fenestration manufacturing, with knowledge of uPVC and/or aluminium products being highly advantageous.

    You will need to demonstrate:

    *

Previous experience in a Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Production Supervisor, or similar role.

    *

Experience managing and developing production teams.

    *

A strong understanding of production planning, targets, quality, and efficiency.

    *

Experience working with KPIs and improving manufacturing performance.

    *

    Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

    *

A good understanding of health and safety within a manufacturing environment.

    *

    Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Experience with continuous improvement, Lean manufacturing, workforce planning, or fenestration manufacturing processes would also be advantageous.

    What's on Offer?

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity with an established UK manufacturer where you will have the opportunity to make a genuine impact on production performance and the wider manufacturing operation.

You will be joining a business that continues to invest in its products, facilities, processes, and people, with the opportunity for long-term career development.
