How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Quantity Surveyor

Bolton, Greater Manchester - commutable from Manchester, Bury, Wigan, Blackburn, Preston and surrounding areas

    £35,000 - £55,000 + Training + Progression + Benefits

Are you a Quantity Surveyor from a construction background, looking for a mainly office-based role where you can develop your commercial skills with a long-established specialist contractor?

This is a great opportunity to join a well-established business operating within specialist construction products, supporting commercial projects from tender stage through to final account. You'll work closely with internal contracts, operations and installation teams, helping to keep projects commercially controlled, compliant and on track.

The company has built a strong reputation across the UK construction sector, supplying and installing specialist fire protection and building safety solutions for commercial projects. With continued growth, product training and experienced support available, this is an excellent step for a mid-level surveyor who wants stability, progression and a more defined commercial role.

In this role, you will manage valuations, variations, cost reporting, subcontractor accounts and final account support across live construction projects. You'll be based mainly from head office, with the chance to build specialist product knowledge and progress within a growing commercial team.

This position would suit a Quantity Surveyor with solid construction experience who is confident commercially, keen to develop technically, and looking for a long-term opportunity with training and progression.

    The Role

Support construction projects from tender/order stage through to delivery and final account
Prepare and manage valuations, applications for payment, variations and cost reports
Liaise with contracts, operations, installation teams, suppliers and subcontractors
    The Person

Quantity Surveyor with experience in the construction sector
Commercial understanding of valuations, variations, cost control and final accounts
Confident working with project teams, clients, subcontractors and internal departments
    Reference Number: BBBH(phone number removed)
