How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Electrical Contracts Manager / Estimator

Location: Kent (with regular travel throughout London and the City)

Salary: Up to £80,000 per annum (DOE)

    Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent

    About the Company

Our client is an established electrical and construction services business that has been delivering high-quality commercial solutions throughout London for over 30 years.

The company specialises in electrical contracting and building services across a diverse portfolio of sectors including healthcare, education, commercial property, corporate environments, and facilities managed by some of London's leading managing agents.

Known for their technical expertise, exceptional customer service, and long-standing client relationships, they deliver a wide range of projects including electrical installations, testing and inspection, distribution board upgrades, emergency lighting programmes, LED upgrades, maintenance works, and commercial fit-outs.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Electrical Contracts Manager / Estimator to join the team.

    The Opportunity

This role would suit a fully qualified Electrician who has progressed into estimating, project management, contracts management, or a supervisory role and is looking for the next step in their career.

You'll be responsible for managing commercial electrical projects from initial enquiry through to completion, conducting site surveys, producing quotations, managing client relationships, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, professionally, and profitably.

This is a highly client-facing position where personality is just as important as technical ability. You'll be meeting clients across London and the City on a regular basis, so we're looking for someone who can confidently represent the business, build rapport quickly, develop trust, and identify opportunities for additional works.

Success in this role requires a combination of strong electrical knowledge, commercial awareness, confidence, professionalism, and excellent communication skills. You'll be expected to provide practical electrical solutions, produce accurate quotations, and deliver an exceptional customer experience from start to finish.

    Key Responsibilities

Attend client meetings and carry out site surveys across commercial properties throughout London and the City.
Prepare accurate quotations, estimates, and tender submissions.
Manage electrical contracts from enquiry through to successful completion.
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
Provide technical and commercial advice to customers.
Identify opportunities for additional works and business development.
Coordinate engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and project resources.
Monitor project budgets, timescales, profitability, and quality standards.
Ensure compliance with all current electrical regulations and health & safety requirements.
Produce project documentation, reports, and progress updates.
Act as a key point of contact between clients and operational teams.
Maintain the highest levels of customer service and professionalism.

    Essential Requirements

NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation or equivalent.
    18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
    ECS Gold Card.
2391 Inspection & Testing qualification, or willingness to obtain.
Strong commercial electrical installation, maintenance, and testing background.
Previous experience preparing quotations and estimates.
Experience managing electrical projects and contracts.
Excellent understanding of current electrical regulations and industry best practice.
    Full UK Driving Licence.
    Strong customer-facing and communication skills.

    Personal Attributes

Professional and confident when dealing with clients at all levels.
Able to build rapport and establish trust quickly.
Strong commercial awareness and business acumen.
Excellent organisational and project management skills.
Self-motivated and capable of working autonomously.
Personable, charismatic, and capable of winning new business through relationship building.
Confident presenting electrical solutions and discussing project requirements.
A natural problem solver who can think on their feet and provide practical solutions.
Comfortable balancing technical and commercial responsibilities.

    Ideal Background

This role would suit someone currently working as a:

    Electrical Contracts Manager
    Electrical Project Manager
    Electrical Estimator
    Electrical Supervisor
    Senior Electrician
Qualified Electrician looking to move into a more commercial and client-facing role

    What's on Offer

Salary up to £80,000 depending on experience.
Travel expenses paid for client meetings and site visits.
Opportunity to work with prestigious commercial clients across London and the City.
Career progression within a growing and ambitious business.
Supportive, professional, and close-knit management team.
Diverse project portfolio spanning commercial, healthcare, education, corporate, and public sector environments.
A role that combines electrical expertise, estimating, project management, client engagement, and business development.
Long-term career opportunities with a company that values quality, professionalism, and customer service.

    Why Apply?

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious electrical professional who enjoys building relationships as much as managing projects. If you're a qualified electrician with strong commercial experience and enjoy meeting clients, preparing quotations, managing contracts, and developing business opportunities, this could be the perfect next step in your career.
