How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Purpose:
To carry out the functions of a teacher in accordance with the Teacher Standards, the Tor Traits, staff dispositions and the Tor Staff competences contained in the Person Specification.
To provide high-quality, personalised education to pupils who attend Tor School Pupil Referral Unit (PRU). The role requires the teacher to support the design of, and deliver a curriculum that is accessible, engaging, and supportive, helping pupils overcome challenges, build self-confidence, and develop positive attitudes toward learning. The teacher will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a holistic approach to each pupil’s development and reintegration into mainstream education or further suitable provisions, where appropriate.
Children attending Tor School will have a wide range of needs, and often very complex needs, which every teacher will strive to meet. The nature of a PRU is often unpredictable and therefore adaptability is a key trait that enables teachers to fulfil their purpose, along with a willingness to understand the needs of each learner, work as a team and have the flexibility to manage varying lengths of placement, effectively.
