How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Maintenance Engineer / Electrical Maintenance Engineer Location: Bedford Salary: £17.31 - £21.63 per hour DOE Hours: 40 hours per week + overtime available No sponsorship available

We're currently looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a busy manufacturing environment in Cardington.

The role would suit a multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer, although candidates with a strong electrical bias and solid UK-based maintenance experience will also be considered.

    The Role

You'll be responsible for supporting the day-to-day maintenance of production equipment, helping to keep machinery running safely and efficiently.

The successful candidate will ideally have a good electrical background and be comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

    What we're looking for

Previous experience in an industrial/manufacturing maintenance environment

    Strong electrical maintenance skills

Ideally multi-skilled, with some mechanical capability

    18th Edition qualification preferred

Candidates without formal qualifications may be considered where they have significant relevant electrical experience (QBE)

    UK engineering experience

A practical, hands-on approach to fault finding and maintenance

Copies of relevant qualifications will be required if an offer is made

    Working Hours

The position is 40 hours per week, with the standard shift running:

    05:30 - 14:30

This includes 1 hour of unpaid breaks per day.

During the initial training and probation period, some flexibility will be required. You may occasionally need to work a 9-hour shift between 05:30 and 18:00 to spend time with the different specialist engineers and get fully trained on the site and equipment.

    Pay & Benefits

£17.31 - £21.63 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications

    Paid weekly

    Overtime available

28 days' holiday including bank holidays

    Full-time, permanent opportunity

Please note: this position does not offer sponsorship.

If you're an electrically biased Maintenance Engineer looking for a hands-on role within a manufacturing environment, we'd be interested in hearing from you
