How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Cadent Gas Ltd
Lead E&I projects that keep our network safe, reliable and ready for the future.
As our Project Supervisor - E&I, you'll play a critical role in delivering Electrical & Instrumentation investment and maintenance activities across Cadent's operational assets. This isn't just about managing projects or supervising technical work in isolation – it's about combining project delivery, operational leadership and engineering expertise to ensure our assets remain safe, compliant and fit for the future.
You'll lead the delivery of E&I projects and upgrades across the network, working closely with internal stakeholders, contractors and operational teams to ensure activities are completed safely, efficiently and in line with relevant standards, procedures and regulatory requirements.
This is a highly varied role that combines site-based supervision, project coordination, technical assurance and contractor management. You'll act as a key interface between operational teams, project stakeholders and delivery partners, ensuring successful outcomes across all aspects of E&I delivery.
This is a permanent role. A company car is provided and, as the role requires regular travel across the network, a full UK driving licence is essential.
    Why you'll love this role:
    * Project Delivery & Compliance – Lead and manage E&I projects and asset upgrades, ensuring delivery against programme requirements, business objectives and relevant legislation.
    * Safety & Assurance Leadership – Champion compliance with Safe Control of Operations (SCO), G17 processes, CDM requirements and HSE standards across all activities.
    * Planning & Design Support – Support project development through planning, design reviews, business cases, risk assessments, permits and technical documentation.
    * Site Supervision & Contractor Management – Act as Cadent's delivery interface on-site, overseeing contractor performance, construction activities and quality assurance.
    * Technical Expertise – Provide specialist E&I knowledge and technical support across operational and investment activities.
    * Performance & Financial Control – Monitor project spend, track performance against forecasts and ensure accurate cost capture and reporting.
    * Stakeholder Engagement – Work collaboratively with Asset Investment, Energy Operations, Safety & Engineering, Finance, Network Control and delivery partners.
    * Operational Support – Support Area Managers and operational teams, participate in pre-start meetings and contribute to standby arrangements where required.
    * Continuous Improvement – Promote technical best practice, capture lessons learned and support improvements in project delivery, safety and performance.
    What you'll bring:
    * E&I Experience – Strong experience within Electrical & Instrumentation environments, ideally within utilities, infrastructure or industrial sectors.
    * Project Delivery Knowledge – Experience delivering engineering, operational or construction projects from initiation through to completion.
    * Technical Expertise – Strong understanding of E&I systems, technical standards, maintenance procedures and engineering specifications.
    * Contract & Contractor Management – Experience managing contractors, monitoring performance and ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.
    * Safety & Compliance Knowledge – Strong understanding of risk management, CDM, SCCF, Safe Control of Operations and relevant industry legislation.
    * Leadership Capability – Ability to lead teams, coordinate multiple stakeholders and drive high standards of performance and safety.
    * Problem-Solving Skills – Confidence managing technical challenges, resolving issues and making sound operational decisions.
    * Communication & Influencing Skills – Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships across the business.
    Qualifications:
    * HNC, SNVQ, NVQ or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline, or equivalent operational experience.
    * Full UK driving licence.
    * IOSH or NEBOSH qualification desirable.
    * SCO Authorising Engineer (AE) and Competent Person (CP) desirable.
    * CompEx EX01-EX04, TEM 2 & 4 and relevant E&I qualifications desirable.
Apply now to lead E&I projects and operational delivery activities that help keep Cadent's network safe, reliable and performing at its best.
Interviews will be held week commencing Monday 14th September.
