How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Are you a Commercial Manager with strong NEC experience and a background in engineering, infrastructure, utilities or construction?

    An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a growing UK engineering and infrastructure group delivering design, consultancy, project management and construction services across the utilities, energy and infrastructure sectors.

    The business is looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to provide commercial leadership across live projects, support Project Managers and Directors, negotiate contracts and help protect and improve project profitability.

    Key Responsibilities

    *

    Review and negotiate NEC3, NEC4 ECC, NEC PSC, JCT and bespoke contracts.

    *

    Identify and manage contractual and commercial risks.

    *

    Review and negotiate Z Clauses and bespoke amendments.

    *

    Support tenders and bids with contractual risk reviews.

    *

    Provide commercial support to Project Managers throughout project delivery.

    *

    Manage Compensation Events, variations, change control and claims.

    *

    Advise Directors and project teams on commercial risk

    *

    Improve consistency of commercial management across the Group.

    About You

    The successful candidate will have:

    *

    Significant Commercial Management experience within engineering, infrastructure, utilities or construction.

    *

    Strong knowledge of NEC3 and NEC4, particularly ECC and PSC.

    *

    Experience with Z Clauses and bespoke contractual amendments.

    *

    Proven contract review and negotiation experience.

    *

    Strong understanding of Compensation Events, change control, claims and final accounts.

    *

    Experience supporting live projects and Project Managers.

    *

    Good understanding of CVRs, forecasting and project margins.

    *

    Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills..

    JCT experience and a relevant Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or Construction Law qualification would be advantageous. MRICS or equivalent is also desirable.
