How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are working with a leading electromechanical engineering and manufacturing business to recruit a Production Engineer to join their growing engineering team.

    This is a hands-on role focused on improving manufacturing processes, supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and ensuring production operates efficiently, safely and to the highest quality standards.

    The Production Engineer will act as a key link between Design, R&D and Manufacturing, helping to take new products from development through to production while continually improving existing processes.

    The Role

    You will be responsible for supporting the manufacturing team with the processes, tooling and documentation required to meet production targets.

    Key responsibilities will include:

    * Developing, implementing and optimising manufacturing processes.

    * Creating and maintaining Work Instructions, Operating Procedures and Test Specifications.

    * Supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) from pilot builds through to full-scale production.

    * Working closely with Design and R&D teams on Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).

    * Defining assembly procedures, process parameters and production methods.

    * Specifying, procuring and maintaining production equipment, tooling, jigs and fixtures.

    * Supporting the introduction of automation, including automated assembly and test systems.

    * Providing day-to-day technical support to production operators and technicians.

    * Investigating defects, scrap and rework through root-cause analysis.

    * Identifying production bottlenecks and driving improvements in efficiency and productivity.

    * Leading continuous improvement activities using Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen and similar methodologies.

    * Supporting cost reduction and process optimisation initiatives.

    About You

    We are looking for an experienced Production Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer or Process Engineer with a background in an electromechanical manufacturing environment.

    You will ideally have:

    * At least 2 years' experience in Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or Process Engineering.

    * Experience working with electromechanical assemblies, such as motors, sensors, PCBs, actuators and wiring.

    * A good understanding of both mechanical and electrical manufacturing processes.

    * Experience working within a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment would be advantageous.

    * Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.

    * Familiarity with quality tools such as FMEA, SPC, 8D and Ishikawa/root-cause analysis.

    * Experience using ERP/MRP systems, such as SAP, Oracle or similar.

    * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    * Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across Design, Engineering, Quality and Manufacturing teams.

    Why Join?

    This is an excellent opportunity to join an innovative engineering and manufacturing environment where you will have genuine influence over production processes, NPI and continuous improvement.

    You will have the opportunity to work across a broad range of electromechanical products while developing your technical and manufacturing engineering expertise.

    The package includes:

    * Salary up to £48,000

    * Flexible working arrangements

    * Structured onboarding and training

    * Ongoing professional development

    * Modern engineering and manufacturing facilities

    * Health and wellbeing initiatives

    * Additional company benefits
