How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Our client designs, creates, and maintains exceptional planting and landscaping schemes that transform spaces and enhance the wellbeing of the people who use them. They are now seeking a Horticultural Maintenance Technician to join their growing team, maintaining a portfolio of prestigious client sites across London.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for horticulture who takes pride in delivering outstanding plant care and exceptional customer service. Working independently across a variety of premium commercial environments, you will ensure every installation is maintained to the highest possible standard.

    The Role

As a Horticultural Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the ongoing care, presentation, and health of a wide range of planted installations, including interior and exterior displays, planters, troughs, and living green walls. You will play a key role in maintaining the company's reputation for excellence by ensuring every installation looks its best while building strong relationships with clients.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Carry out scheduled maintenance visits across London in accordance with agreed service schedules.

    * Maintain the health, appearance, and structure of interior and exterior planting displays.

    * Water, prune, feed, clean, and replant as required to ensure plants remain healthy and visually appealing.

    * Diagnose plant health issues and implement appropriate corrective actions, including pest and disease treatments where necessary.

    * Replace plants and carry out minor refresh works to maintain the highest presentation standards.

    * Ensure all installations comply with company quality, horticultural, and health & safety standards.

    * Complete service reports, maintenance records, and photographic updates using company systems.

    * Report plant health concerns, access issues, or client feedback promptly to the Contracts Team.

    * Liaise professionally with clients, providing knowledgeable and friendly customer service.

    * Support installation, de-installation, seasonal works, and deliveries when required.

    * Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles in a clean, safe, and serviceable condition.

    About You

The successful candidate will have a genuine passion for horticulture and enjoy working independently while delivering consistently high standards.

    You will have:

    * Previous experience in horticultural maintenance, grounds maintenance, interior landscaping, or plant care.

    * Good plant identification and plant care knowledge.

    * The ability to identify common plant health issues, pests, and diseases.

    * Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work.

    * Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage your daily schedule effectively.

    * A professional and customer-focused approach.

    * Good communication skills and the confidence to liaise with clients on site.

    * The ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team.

    * A full UK driving licence (desirable not essential).

    Training & Development

Our client is committed to developing their people and offers:

    * Full training in company horticultural standards and maintenance systems.

    * Ongoing development in plant care, diagnostics, and biophilic best practice.

    * Opportunities to undertake additional training and qualifications to support your career progression.

    What's on Offer

    * Full-time permanent position.

    * Opportunity to work on prestigious, high-quality planting installations across London.

    * Ongoing training and professional development.

    * Supportive and collaborative team environment.

    * Genuine opportunities for career progression within a growing business.

If you are passionate about horticulture, enjoy working independently, and take pride in creating exceptional planting displays, we would love to hear from you
