How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

CNC Turner / Sliding Head Engineer
Shape your future in precision engineering
Are you an experienced CNC Turner / Sliding Head Engineer looking for more than just a job on the shop floor? Do you want to work with state-of-the-art Citizen CNC machines, in a business that values your input, rewards your skills, and invests in your progression? If so, this is the opportunity for you.
We are a dynamic and ambitious engineering business with a reputation for delivering world-class precision components. Our team is expanding, and we are searching for driven CNC professionals who want to build a long-term career in a fast-moving, forward-thinking environment.
What makes this role stand out?
    *
Top-tier equipment – work with advanced Citizen sliding head CNC machinery that challenges your expertise and sharpens your skills.
    *
Career growth – we believe in developing our people, offering ongoing training, mentoring, and clear progression pathways.
    *
Job security – strong order books, a diverse client base, and continued investment in our facilities mean stability and growth.
    *
Rewarding package – competitive salary with opportunities to increase earnings as you progress.
    *
Culture of innovation – your ideas won’t just be heard, they’ll shape how we operate.
    Your Responsibilities
    *
Programming, setting, and operating Citizen sliding head CNC machines to produce high-precision components
    *
Reading and interpreting technical drawings to deliver parts that meet exact specifications
    *
Monitoring machine performance, identifying adjustments, and ensuring first-time quality
    *
Troubleshooting and carrying out routine maintenance to maximise uptime and reliability
    *
Working closely with engineers to optimise processes, reduce waste, and increase efficiency
    *
Ensuring safety and quality standards are consistently upheld, with a commitment to ISO9001 compliance
What a typical day looks like
One day you’ll be programming a new component from a complex technical drawing, the next you’ll be troubleshooting a live job to make sure it runs seamlessly. You’ll collaborate with engineers to refine processes, carry out preventative maintenance to keep production flowing, and take ownership of your machine to deliver outstanding results. Every day will bring variety, challenge, and the satisfaction of seeing the tangible impact of your skills.
    About You
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work and thrives in a hands-on environment. To succeed, you’ll bring:
    *
Solid experience as a CNC Setter/Turner, ideally with Citizen sliding head machines
    *
Strong CNC programming ability and confidence interpreting detailed drawings
    *
Excellent attention to detail with a strong quality mindset
    *
A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
    *
The ability to work as part of a team, sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues
    *
Plastics experience is advantageous but not essential
    *
An engineering qualification or apprenticeship background is preferred
    Why this role?
This isn’t just a “turn up and press the button” job. It’s a chance to become part of a team that produces components that genuinely matter, for clients who rely on our precision and expertise. You’ll work in an environment that challenges you technically, values your contribution, and gives you the platform to grow.
This is a hands-on role. It’s not clean, but it’s real engineering – and it’s highly rewarding.
If you’re ready to be valued for your skills, take pride in producing precision work, and want to join a company with ambition and drive, we’d love to hear from you.
Apply today and take your CNC career to the next level
