How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Role

    As a Welder, you will be responsible for MIG and/or TIG welding components and assemblies to specification, ensuring all work meets the required quality and production standards.

    You will work closely with the Welding Team Leader, Production Engineering and Quality teams, supporting both day-to-day production and new product development.

    This is a varied role where you’ll be involved in producing specialist automotive components rather than simply carrying out repetitive welding work.

    Key Responsibilities

    Carry out MIG and/or TIG welding of components and assemblies
    Manufacture parts to specification and required quality standards
    Work from engineering drawings, work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures
    Work to production schedules, work orders and output targets
    Prepare and set up welding equipment, tools and materials
    Ensure welding equipment is maintained and the work area remains clean and organised
    Carry out quality checks and sampling in accordance with work orders
    Identify and report quality issues or non-conforming components
    Correctly identify and isolate non-conforming parts
    Work closely with Welding Team Leaders, Production Engineering and Quality
    Support new projects and changes to existing products
    Assist with other production tasks when required
    Contribute ideas to improve quality, productivity and efficiency
    Participate in continuous improvement and cross-functional meetings
    Follow all company Health & Safety and environmental procedures

    What We're Looking For

    The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a MIG Welder, TIG Welder or MIG/TIG Welder within a manufacturing or engineering environment.

    You should have:

    Relevant MIG and/or TIG welding experience
    Previous manufacturing or production experience
    Ability to work accurately with minimum supervision
    Strong attention to detail
    A commitment to producing high-quality work
    Ability to work to production schedules and deadlines
    Good communication skills
    A positive "can-do" attitude
    Ability to work effectively as part of a team
    A flexible approach to workload and changing production requirements

    Experience That Would Be Advantageous

    Previous automotive industry experience
    Stainless steel welding experience
    Experience welding automotive components or exhaust systems
    Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
    Mechanical or vehicle maintenance experience
    Experience working with specialist or precision components
    Clean driving licence
