How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Are you an experienced Assistant Project Manager, Agent, Site Agent or Project Engineer working in civil engineering and ready to step up into a Project Manager role?

    We are looking for an ambitious individual to join a growing infrastructure business and take ownership of projects across the utilities, highways and wider civil engineering sectors.

    This is a genuine step-up opportunity. You may not have held the Project Manager title before, but if you have the technical knowledge, site experience, commercial awareness and ambition to take responsibility for projects, we want to hear from you.

    The business is entering an exciting period of growth following a recent acquisition, creating opportunities to work on increasingly complex infrastructure projects and develop your career within an expanding organisation.

    The Role

    As Project Manager, you will take ownership of projects from mobilisation through to completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, commercially, on programme and to the required quality standards.

    You will work closely with clients, principal contractors, site teams, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure successful project delivery.

    Key Responsibilities

    Manage civil engineering and infrastructure projects from start to finish.
    Take ownership of programme, cost, quality and health & safety.
    Lead and support Site Agents, Supervisors and operational teams.
    Coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractors.
    Monitor progress against programme and manage project risks.
    Manage client relationships and attend project meetings.
    Support commercial management, including valuations, variations, forecasting and cost control.
    Ensure works are delivered in accordance with specifications, RAMS and company procedures.
    Manage project reporting, documentation and performance information.
    Identify opportunities to improve delivery, efficiency and profitability.

    About You

    We're looking for someone with a civil engineering or infrastructure background who is ready to make the move into Project Management.

    You may currently be working as an:

    Assistant Project Manager
    Agent / Site Agent
    Assistant Site Agent
    Project Engineer
    Site Manager
    Senior Site Supervisor
    Sub AgentExperience within one or more of the following sectors would be valuable:

    Utilities | Highways | Water | Drainage | Sewer | Groundworks | Infrastructure | Environmental | Trenchless Technology

    Experience across utilities and highways is particularly desirable, although a strong wider civil engineering background will also be considered.

    You'll ideally have:

    Strong understanding of civil engineering and construction delivery.
    Experience working on live infrastructure projects.
    Experience coordinating site teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
    Good commercial awareness.
    Experience working to programmes and deadlines.
    Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
    A proactive approach to problem solving.
    The ambition to progress into Project Management.Previous Project Manager experience is not essential. We're interested in your capability, attitude and potential as much as your current job title.
