How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    AC Installation Engineer – £45,000–£50,000+ – Oxford / M4 Corridor
    £45,000–£50,000+ DOE | Company Van + Fuel Card | Private Use | Paid Travel | 2.5x Overtime

Are you an AC Installation Engineer looking for a better opportunity with a well-established M&E contractor, excellent commercial projects and a strong package?

This could be the role for you.

We are currently representing an established M&E contractor with over 20 years' experience, who are looking to add to their growing AC installation team.

The company works on a range of high-end commercial projects, including offices, forensic science facilities and other specialist commercial environments.

The existing AC installation team consists of six engineers, and due to continued growth, they are now looking for another engineer to join the team.

Experienced AC Installers, as well as Junior and Intermediate Engineers looking to progress, will be considered.

    The Role
You will be working as part of an established commercial AC installation team, covering projects across the Oxford, Swindon, Reading and wider M4 corridor, with work also extending towards Bristol and Southampton and occasional London projects.

You will be involved in the installation of:

    VRV & VRF systems
    Split systems
    Multi-splits
    Twin splits
    Ventilation systems
    AHUs
    Ductwork
    Associated mechanical systems
The company delivers complete mechanical installation packages, so multi-skilled engineers with plumbing or additional mechanical qualifications are particularly desirable.

    The Package
    💷 £45,000–£46,000 – AC-biased engineers
    💷 £48,000–£50,000+ – Multi-skilled engineers
🚐 Company van + fuel card
    ⛽ Private use available
    🕢 Monday–Friday, 7:30am–4:00pm
🚗 Travel paid from leaving home in the morning
    💰 Enhanced overtime rates available
    💷 2.5x overtime rate for call-outs
    ⏱️ Minimum 4-hour call-out payment
    📅 1-in-6 call-out rota
    🏖️ 20 days' holiday + bank holidays
📈 Holiday increases by 1 day per year up to 25 days
    🎓 Additional training and qualifications
    🛠️ Specialist tools provided
    📱 Company phone provided
    🥾 PPE provided
    💼 Pension scheme

    Call-Out
The call-out rota is 1 in 6 and is described as relatively quiet, with call-outs required only occasionally.

When called out, engineers receive 2.5x overtime, with a minimum four-hour payment.

There is also additional overtime available during the working week at enhanced rates.

    Who Are They Looking For?
The client is open to speaking with a range of candidates, including:

    Experienced AC Installation Engineers
Commercial installation experience with VRV/VRF and split systems.

    Junior / Intermediate AC Engineers
Engineers with a genuine interest in developing their installation skills and progressing within the industry.

    Multi-Skilled Engineers
AC Engineers with plumbing or additional mechanical experience who can contribute to wider M&E installation packages.

    Why This Role?
This isn't just another installation job.

You'll be joining a 20+ year established M&E business, working alongside an existing AC installation team on high-quality commercial projects.

There is a genuine opportunity to develop your skills, gain additional qualifications and progress within a growing business.

The combination of £45k–£50k+ salaries, company vehicle, paid travel, private use, strong overtime rates and high-end commercial projects makes this an opportunity well worth considering.
