How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Client: My client has established themselves as one of the UK’s premier M&E contractors. Following their formation almost 75 years ago, they have grown their turnover to over £250m per annum. The business boasts an envious track record of delivering some of the UK’s and London’s landmark projects. Typically the specialise in major shell and core projects in sectors such as; commercial offices, healthcare, pharmaceutical and education. Despite their size, this Tier 1 M&E Contractor has fantastic staff retention rates with a reputation for looking after their staff. They offer excellent exposure and internal training schemes with a hands-on approach to developing their staff.

    Role: Senior Mechanical Project Manager – South East London – Salary £80,000 - £90,000 + £5,000 Car Allowance + Full Travel Expenses + Pension + Healthcare + Bonus

    Role/Responsibilities:

    * Tender review/validation

    * Design Management (reviewing design liaising with client, main contractor and consultants)

    * Procurement of subcontractors, kit and plant

    * Technical submittals

    * RFIs – Liaison with client team, main contractor and sub contractors

    * Value Engineering where applicable

    * Programming of works – using MS Project or Asta project

    * Health & Safety management (RAMs)

    * Commercial Responsibility, assisting with sub contractor variation accounts working alongside project specific Quantity Survey.

    * Management of variations

    * Team Coordination (overseeing junior engineers, construction managers and supervisors)

    * Progress meetings with sub contractors, client and internal meetings

    * Overseeing commissioning stages

    * Formulation of OM Manuals and client handover

    The ideal candidate:

    * Experience delivering major shell and core projects

    * Experience managing projects to a minimum of £5m M&E value

    * A minimum 2 years’ experience in a management role

    * The candidate will show longevity in previous employment

    * Must be technically astute and a good people manager
