How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Are you a strategic bid leader with a track record of securing major social housing, regeneration and refurbishment contracts? As the Head of Strategic Bidding, you'll oversee the end-to-end bidding process within the property and construction industry. Your work will play a key role in securing new business opportunities and driving the success of the organisation.

    We are partnering with a leading social housing refurbishment and regeneration contractor to appoint a Head of Strategic Bidding. Reporting directly to the Refurbishment Partnerships Director, this is a high-profile leadership role responsible for developing and delivering the organisation's work-winning strategy across the Midlands and wider UK housing market.

    Description

    Lead the strategic bidding function across the social housing and refurbishment business.
    Develop and implement winning bid strategies aligned to business growth objectives.
    Identify and assess new framework and tender opportunities within the housing sector.
    Manage major bids, frameworks and negotiated opportunities from inception through to award.
    Collaborate with operational, commercial and technical teams to develop compelling tender solutions.
    Build strong relationships with housing associations, local authorities and public sector stakeholders.
    Lead bid reviews, governance processes and post-tender negotiations.
    Analyse market trends, procurement pipelines and competitor activity to inform future bidding strategy.
    Drive continuous improvement across bid processes, systems and performance.
    Manage and develop a high-performing bid and proposal team.Profile

    A successful Head of Strategic Bidding should have:

    Proven success securing major contracts and framework agreements within social housing, construction, property services or refurbishment.
    Strong understanding of public sector procurement and framework bidding.
    Experience leading complex, high-value tenders and competitive dialogue submissions.
    Excellent stakeholder management and senior leadership engagement skills.
    Commercially astute with the ability to develop profitable and deliverable solutions.
    Strong leadership capability with experience developing bid and proposal teams.
    Ability to influence decision-making at board and director level.
