TeacherActive is looking for enthusiastic graduates to join our team as a Psychology Graduate TA, supporting a fantastic network of mainstream primary schools across East London from September 2026.
If you've recently completed a Psychology degree and are wondering where your next step could take you, this is an incredible opportunity to gain meaningful, hands-on experience while making a genuine difference to children's lives. We partner with a wide range of friendly and welcoming primary schools throughout East London, where you'll work alongside experienced teachers and support energetic, curious young learners, including pupils with a variety of additional needs such as SEN. It's the perfect opportunity to apply everything you've learnt about behaviour, child development, communication and learning in a real-world environment.
Whether you're considering educational psychology, clinical psychology, teaching, speech and language therapy, social work, or simply want to build valuable professional experience before deciding on your long-term career, this role offers an excellent foundation. Even if education isn't your end goal, you'll develop highly transferable skills including communication, resilience, teamwork, problem-solving and relationship building.

As a Psychology Graduate TA, you'll help pupils engage with learning, provide one-to-one and small group support where needed, encourage confidence both inside and outside the classroom, and become a valued member of the wider school team. You'll gain first-hand insight into child development and inclusive education while making a lasting impact on pupils' learning journeys.
The ideal Psychology Graduate TA will have:
A degree in Psychology or a closely related subject
A genuine interest in child development, behaviour and learning
A caring, patient and positive approach to working with children
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Previous experience working with children or within an educational setting is advantageous but not essential
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is desirable, or a willingness to apply for one
