How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are seeking a Junior Logistics Assistant to join a fast-paced commercial operations team. This role is responsible for supporting the efficient execution of physical commodity movements, ensuring contractual commitments are fulfilled accurately and on time.


    Working closely with suppliers, customers, farmers, traders, and logistics providers, the successful candidate will coordinate transport activities, manage stock movements, and support the day-to-day execution of commercial transactions.


    Key Responsibilities


    • Coordinate collections and deliveries to ensure contractual obligations are met.
    • Liaise with mills, suppliers, farmers, traders, and haulage contractors to manage stock movements.
    • Schedule and book transport movements efficiently.
    • Negotiate with haulage providers to minimise transport costs where possible.
    • Track, verify, and communicate ETAs to internal and external stakeholders.
    • Review weekly contract balances, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
    • Maintain accurate operational records and documentation.
    • Communicate effectively with internal teams to ensure the smooth execution of daily activities.
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives across logistics and execution processes.


    About You


    Education & Experience


    • Educated to a minimum of A-Level standard or equivalent.
    • Degree preferred but not essential.
    • Experience in, or a strong interest in, logistics, transport, haulage, scheduling, supply chain operations, or commodity markets.
    • Knowledge of AIC and/or FOSFA contracts would be advantageous.
    • Understanding of arable farming and agricultural supply chains is desirable.

    • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
    • Highly numerate with excellent attention to detail.
    • Strong planning, organisation, and coordination abilities.
    • Commercial awareness and confidence when dealing with external suppliers.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and changing environment.
    • Proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills.
    • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
