How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Background of BW:

    Role Overview:

    The Planner will support BW’s success by developing high-quality planning and programming solutions that strengthen tender submissions and support successful project delivery. Reporting to the Head of Bid Management, the Planner will produce tender programmes, construction methodologies, and logistics strategies, working closely with bid, estimating, design, and project teams to deliver practical, innovative, and client-focused solutions. The role is responsible for ensuring planning information is accurate, robust, and aligned with client requirements, supporting both the pre-construction and construction phases.


    Key Responsibilities:

    The successful candidate will have a range of responsibilities. Duties will include but not be limited to the following:

    · Provide planning expertise and programming advice to support business development activities, pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQ’s), and client engagement.

    · Review tender documentation to identify programme, logistics, sequencing, and construction methodology requirements, risks and opportunities.

    · Support the development of bid strategies by attending tender launch meetings and collaborating with bid, estimating, design and operational teams.

    · Develop detailed tender programmes that demonstrate the optimum construction sequence, procurement strategy, key milestones, phasing, and project delivery approach.

    · Prepare construction methodologies and sequencing plans, including supporting method statements and graphical programme information where appropriate.

    · Undertake site visits to assess project constraints, logistics, access requirements, and stakeholder considerations, incorporating findings into tender proposals.

    · Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and statutory bodies to obtain programme information, lead-in times, technical information, and specialist input.

    · Identify project risks, constraints, opportunities, and value engineering proposals, ensuring these are reflected within the programme and tender strategy.

    · Coordinate planning requirement for temporary works, major plant, statutory approvals, and construction logistics to support accurate tender submissions.

    · Produce supplementary and alternative programmes where required to demonstrate delivery options, phasing strategies, or specific elements of the works.

    · Ensure all planning documentation is accurate, compliant, and aligned with client requirements, tender deliverables, and BW’s quality standards.

    · Provide ongoing planning support throughout the pre-construction phase, contributing to innovative, practical and client-focused solutions that strengthen bid submissions.


    Key requirements:

    · Proven experience within the construction industry, ideally in fit-out and refurbishment, with a strong understanding of the construction process gained through operational, site, or planning roles.

    · Sound knowledge of construction procurement routes, design responsibility, and project delivery methodologies.

    · Demonstrable experience in developing project and tender programmes, with proficiency in planning software such as Asta Powerproject preferred.

    · Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet demanding deadlines.

    · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and adapt communication styles to suit a range of stakeholders.

    · A proactive and solutions-focused approach, demonstrating initiative, adaptability, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

    · Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality planning documentation.

    · Proficient IT skills, including Asta Powerproject (preferred) and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook.

    · A collaborative team player with a professional approach and a commitment to maintaining high standards of conduct and presentation.
