How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    THE ROLE
    As an Experienced Prepper & Polisher Technician, you'll play a key role in producing exceptional paint finishes by preparing vehicles to the highest standards and carrying out final polishing and finishing work before vehicles are returned to customers. Working closely with Paint Sprayers, Panel Technicians, and MET Technicians, you'll help ensure every repair meets manufacturer and industry-leading quality standards.

    Key Responsibilities:
    ·Prepare accident-damaged vehicles for painting through sanding, masking, filling, and priming
    ·Carry out final polishing, machine polishing, mopping, and finishing to achieve a flawless factory-quality finish
    ·Inspect repaired panels for imperfections and rectify defects before paint application or vehicle handover
    ·Remove dirt inclusions, paint defects, and minor imperfections using appropriate polishing techniques
    ·Work closely with Paint Technicians and the wider Bodyshop team to maintain efficient vehicle throughput
    ·Ensure all work is completed in line with manufacturer repair methods and bodyshop quality standards
    ·Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment while following Health & Safety procedures
    ·Complete all work within agreed production times without compromising on quality

    ABOUT YOU
    We're looking for a skilled and motivated Prepper & Polisher Technician who takes pride in producing exceptional finishes and consistently delivering high-quality workmanship.

    ·Previous experience as a Prepper, Polisher, or Prep & Polish Technician within an automotive bodyshop or accident repair centre
    ·Strong knowledge of vehicle preparation, sanding, masking, priming, polishing, and finishing techniques
    ·Experience using machine polishers and specialist finishing equipment
    ·Excellent eye for detail with a commitment to producing first-class cosmetic finishes
    ·Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, target-driven environment
    ·Positive attitude with excellent teamwork and communication skills
    ·IMI and/or ATA accreditation is advantageous but not essential
    ·Full UK Driving Licence preferred
