How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Assist in the preparation of valuations and applications for payment.
Monitor project costs, identify commercial risks and support the implementation of mitigation measures.
Ensure accurate records are maintained for variations, compensation events and contractual correspondence.
Assist with the preparation of certificates, accruals and cost/value reconciliations.
Support the commercial team in ensuring contractual compliance under JCT or NEC forms of contract.
Build and maintain positive working relationships with the site management team, clients, consultants and subcontractors.

Previous commercial experience working for a Main Contractor, either as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or through a placement or graduate role.
A degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline (or currently working towards one).
Familiarity with JCT and/or NEC forms of contract.
Understanding of current construction legislation and commercial practices.
Experience or knowledge of subcontract procurement, measurement, valuations and cost control.
Understanding of monthly reporting, forecasting and earned value analysis.
Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
Competent in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

    Personal Attributes

A positive attitude with a genuine desire to develop a career in Quantity Surveying.
    Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively within a collaborative project team.
Well organised with good planning and time management skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to manage competing priorities.
A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
Commitment to delivering high standards of quality, compliance and customer service.

    What's On Offer

Salary up to £42,000 per annum.
Comprehensive benefits package including car allowance/company car, pension, annual leave and bonus scheme.
Opportunity to work on a landmark £25m private healthcare development in Nottingham.
Structured career progression with ongoing training and professional development.
Support towards professional membership (RICS or CIOB).
