How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Owen Daniels are supporing a well-established and growing aerospace manufacturing business based in South Birmingham, is looking to appoint an experienced Quality Manager to lead its quality function and drive continuous improvement across the business.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Quality Manager who can hit the ground running in a fast-paced precision manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will have extensive experience working within the aerospace sector and a strong understanding of AS9100 quality management systems.

    Reporting directly to senior management, you will take ownership of the site's quality strategy while remaining actively involved in day-to-day quality activities, supporting production, customers, and suppliers.

    Key Responsibilities
    Manage and develop the Quality Department, leading a team of 5 comprising Quality Technicians and Quality Engineers.
    Maintain and continually improve the company's AS9100 Quality Management System.
    Lead internal, customer and third-party audits.
    Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions using 8D and 5 Why methodologies.
    Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory and aerospace quality requirements.
    Investigate non-conformances and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
    Work closely with production, engineering and supply chain teams to improve quality performance.
    Monitor KPIs and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
    Manage customer quality issues and maintain strong customer relationships.
    Support supplier quality activities where required.The Candidate

    The successful candidate will demonstrate:

    Previous experience as a Quality Manager within an aerospace manufacturing environment.
    Strong working knowledge of AS9100 and aerospace quality standards.
    A hands-on approach with the ability to solve problems on the shop floor.
    Proven experience using 8D, 5 Why, Root Cause Analysis and continuous improvement tools.
    Experience leading and developing quality teams.
    Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
    The ability to work independently and make confident decisions.
    A proactive approach with the ability to make an immediate impact.What's on Offer
