How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Jelly Technical are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join an award-winning manufacturing business with over a hundred years of industry expertise. Based at a site in Melton Mowbray this business produces products for a global customer base. This company prides itself on a culture that supports a good balance of proactive work, equipment reliability and long-term engineering improvements.

    In this Maintenance Engineer role, you will join a dedicated engineering team maintaining specialised portioning and packing machinery working a double day's shift pattern Monday - Friday, alternating weekly between Earlies (6am - 2pm) and Lates (2pm -10pm). Alongside reacting to breakdowns, you will play a key part in implementing improvement projects, utilising root cause analysis and supporting a significant ongoing strategy of facility investment and new equipment installation.

    The role of a Maintenance Engineer:

    Respond to critical machinery breakdowns to ensure quick, effective solutions and high equipment reliability.
    Carry out PPM schedules and review their effectiveness to prevent recurring issues.
    Identify, develop and implement continuous improvement projects using root cause analysis techniques.
    Complete necessary reports and update jobs on the site asset management system to support future troubleshooting.
    Ensure strict adherence to health and safety procedures, quality standards and hygiene regulations.

    Qualifications and experience needed for this Maintenance Engineer role:

    Completed engineering or electrical qualifications via an apprenticeship or a relevant formal training route.
    Multi-skilled engineering background or strong electrical expertise with experience in a manufacturing environment.
    Proven awareness of workplace health and safety standards within a production facility.
    Ability to work on your own initiative and manage your workload.
    Adaptable and flexible approach to meet changing business demands and seasonal fluctuations.
